The lavatory seat is a lot more hygienic in comparison to most other surfaces in the home, including kitchen chopping boards, touch handles and sinks, according to research.
Scientists from the Educational institution of Arizona observed the bacteria staying in 15 homes. They took swabs from 14 sites in kitchens and lavatories, including the fluids wrung from dishcloths.
Study author Pat Rusin explained: "Just what our team located, and our team are still theorising as to why, is that perhaps even just before our team introduced any anti-fungal, the lavatory seat was always the cleanest site,".
